From our last trip. He doesn't even take a binky. Just chews on them :)
Since we have moved back to Missouri and I started school we have been traveling a lot. One of my online classes has a test at the beginning of every month that I have to go to the main campus (3 hours away) to take. Thankfully the main campus is close to my hometown so we just stay with my family instead of having to pay for a hotel every time. The drive is wearing hubby out every month and packing is wearing me out! I have always dreaded packing (and unpacking even more) but having a baby makes it that much worse. How can one tiny person cause us to have so much more luggage?
I have always overpacked everywhere I go. You never know when you may get stuck or have something come up that you need a dress outfit for. And since we do live in Missouri I have to pack for all different seasons because the weather changes every day! Have I mentioned that I miss California? :) Anyway, now I am paranoid about leaving something that I absolutely need for little man behind so I just pack it all. Not really, but yeah… Before baby my husband and I could pack our clothes in one bag, our toiletries in another bag, and then we had our shoe bag. Now, baby boy and I have a bag for our clothes; hubby has a separate bag for his clothes; we have a shoe bag (I do, hubby throws his in with his clothes); a bag for toiletries; a diaper bag; and a bag for baby toys, extra diapers and wipes, baby food, bottles and breast pump just in case. (I rarely pack the bottles and breast pump) Oh, and I have to take my books and laptop with me. That may not sound like much, but it is sooooo much! Not to mention that I pack every outfit, sleeper, sock, cap, bib, towel, and wash cloth that little man owns. This is insane!! We also have the gigantic jogging stroller that has never been on a jog, walks but not jogs, and the walker that we have to fold up and put in the back. By the time I pack and we pack the Jeep I am ready to stay home. Ugh!!! We then stay 2, yes only 2, nights and have to pack it all back up again to come home. This time adding a dirty clothes bag to the pile. I don’t know how I would pack for all of us to get on a plane… How do you all minimize the amount of bags you have to take on trips?
Once I get caught up on my homework and housework I am going to try and figure out how to cut out some of this baggage. My son will probably be graduating from college by then… kidding ;)
