I am new to all of this (parenting, being a wife, blogging…) so please bear with me. For those of you who do not already know, my name is Brittany. I am 27 and live in Missouri with my husband and our son who is now 8 months old. I would like to share as much as possible from my pregnancy up to now, at least the highlight moments, so I have some catching up to do! I will do that in a few different posts but let me give you some background info about this wonderful life I was given.
I am a stay at home mom. I worked as an Optician until I was 28 weeks pregnant and put on bed rest. I am also a full time student seeking a degree in Elementary Education. I will graduate the Summer of 2017. That sounds like forever away, but it’s just more time I get to stay home with my precious baby boy :) My husband was stationed in Okinawa, Japan when we started dating. Yes, we knew each other before we started a long distance relationship. When he got back to the United States we moved to California while he finished the last year of his enlistment with the Marine Corps. I got pregnant a couple months after moving to California (before getting married… oops!) We obviously really missed each other while he was in Japan ;) When I was 25 ½ weeks pregnant we met up with some friends in Las Vegas and we tied the knot! They traveled from Oklahoma to be there just for us, are they not the BEST?! I delivered our son in July (stay tuned for this one) and we moved to Missouri in August. Not ideal, but we made it work and it really wasn’t that bad. Now we are raising our son here in Missouri, my home state, and are a few hours away from both mine and my husband’s families, his living in Oklahoma. He works a lot and then has to listen to me complain about the day and how stressed I get with the baby and school. My poor hubby! In my defense, I don’t get much interaction with the outside world and most (almost all) of my conversations are with an eight month old whose vocabulary consists of one word, dada… I also don’t have anyone that lives close enough to come entertain him (or me) while I do homework and “clean”. My husband’s work hours are weird so he’s usually sleeping while we are awake and awake while we are sleeping during the week. I get overwhelmed and he is all I have to complain to… Sorry hubby!! ←See what I mean? Ugh! I am a complainer…. Like I said, I am new to all of this and I am trying to work on being better at all of it! I am hoping that blogging will help me a bit. Get some of my venting out... At least it will give me some kind of interaction with adults and maybe give hubby a break ;)
Now that you know a little bit about my life as a mommy and wife, I am so anxious to start telling you all about our journey and this beautiful, hectic life we live! I have only been a mom for 8 months but I would love to try and help answer any questions that mommies to be or new mommies (and daddies) may have. I am also open to any advice you may have for me! Just please be nice :)
And…. I just made my first blog post! GO ME!!!
