Last night we traveled back to our house from visiting my family and taking a test for school. We got in about 11:15 PM and of course I couldn’t go right to sleep like hubby and baby did. I finally fell asleep around 2AM and then woke up when hubby was leaving for work around 6AM. Guess what? I couldn’t fall back to sleep and had a snoozing baby. Ugh!! About 8AM I finally fall back to sleep and baby boy decides he is ready to get up 30 minutes later :) The joys of being a mommy!
As soon as we wake up the first thing I do is change my son’s diaper, every morning. Well this morning while I was still half asleep and moving slower than normal he decided he would pee while I was trying to get his new diaper underneath him. No coverage what-so-ever, and he drenched the bed. The sheets (which it soaked through to the mattress) and the comforter. I clean my son up and bring him downstairs to his walker and strip the bed down to put the bedding in the washer. When I am finished cleaning that up he is crying and wanting out of his walker to play. I get him out and he goes into his play yard to play with his toys. While he is occupied I go to gather my books so I can start on my loads of homework. When I come back to the living room he is trying to crawl over the side of his stationary play car (he still hasn’t figured out that he can crawl in if he opens the door) so I pick him up to help him and see that the side of his sleeper is covered in poop that is coming out of his brand new diaper. “You have got to be kidding me!” All within the first 30 minutes of our morning. I change his diaper again (without getting peed on this time) and put his sleeper in the bathtub to soak since the lid is already locked on the washer. It was definitely an I NEED coffee morning at my house!
It didn't end there. It was like a Monday around here. Since he is teething he followed me around crying all day and would not nap. He was into everything he's not supposed to be and got himself into a couple predicaments. One being he flipped head first over his car because again he won't open the door and crawl in, and he had pulled himself up on his walker and was trying to push it. Before I could get to him his feet came out from under him and he was hanging from the "push handle" on the back of the walker in a sitting position. I finally gave him Tylenol and let him sleep on me allllll afternoon. Thankfully dad is home and momma can now get her work finished! (Hopefully)
