I gave birth in July, we came home from the hospital and had to start packing our apartment in California shortly after to move to Missouri in August, and my mom flew out to meet our son (her first grandchild) and ride back to Missouri with us. We did take baby boy to Sea World before we moved and also to the beach the day we were leaving California so we could at least put his feet in the ocean. He HATED it!
We drove until we got to Oklahoma. There my dad and youngest sister met us and stayed the night to spend time with the new addition to our family. My mom went back to Missouri and we stayed in Oklahoma for the week so my husband’s family and friends could meet our little man. We then made the trip to my hometown in Missouri for the rest of my family and friends to meet him. We got to stay there for a week and then had to be at our new townhouse to meet the movers. We only had a couple days before my husband had to start working at his new job so we were pretty overwhelmed. I don’t think we have ever fully moved in here and we have lived here for 7 months… that is our life. Busy! My husbands job takes him away most of the time during the week so we really only see him on the weekends and when he wakes up to get ready for work during the week. I started going back to school full time and taking full course loads to get this degree finished. (I have changed majors so I am behind!) Between my momma’s boy (attached at the hip) and school work, I don’t have time to do anything.
We celebrated baby boy’s 1st Holidays; Halloween (we were the Ninja Turtle family), Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and Valentine’s Day. He rolled over at 3 months; started army crawling at 5 months; started sitting up by himself, going from laying on his belly to sitting on his butt, and getting up on hands and feet at 6 months; and started getting his first tooth, crawling, saying dada, pulling himself up on the furniture, and using the furniture to hold himself up and walk along it at 7 months. He will rock back and forth on his butt if you say “rock a baby” and will bounce on his knees or feet when you say “bouncy, bouncy”! He could not eat cereal without getting sick and was diagnosed with acid reflux at 4 months which he takes medicine for. Although, I am thinking of trying aloe to replace his medication. I have heard good things and I have a friend who swears by it. He was eating baby food really good starting at 6 months (doctors orders) and then suddenly didn’t want it as much at 7 months. I don’t force him to eat it and let him go at his own pace for now and he is healthy (and chunky). I was told that with his new teeth coming in it may affect his eating habits. (he is breastfeeding frequently) Now at 8 months old my little guy has his second tooth coming in and has started clapping. It’s adorable! We play pat a cake a lot and I guess that is where he learned it? Now if we say “clap”, “yay!”, or sing pat a cake he will clap his hands with the biggest smile on his face :) Melts my heart!! I love watching him learn and grow. They grow too fast though and do not stay babies long enough! I know I left out a lot but I think I covered the main points to where I can start writing to you and you will have a sense of where I am coming from. If I left any important details out, I will fill you in down the road. I am so anxious to get into this and tell you about my messy but perfect for me life :) I love it!!
